Boyz

Well the ultra sound confirmed what I already knew, it's another boy! The ladies(myself and Chloe) of the household are becoming quickly out numbered. We are really excited to have another little man running around.

We all took a trip to Missouri for my brother's graduation. Yeah, Seth did it! We got to visit with family members that we haven't seen in years. Of course Ewan loved being the center of attention and manipulated everyone to play cars with him. Our summer has been filled with park, zoo, pool and repeat.

Sean and I are escaping to St. Thomas at the end of this month for our second baby moon. Hopefully we will come home feeling refreshed and ready to parent a newborn and a two year old....

Back Home

The Whalen's are finally home and enjoying every minute of it. As many of you know April is a big month for our household. My birthday, Sean's birthday and our 6th year wedding anniversary. All of which were somewhat lost in the shuffle of dealing with our house. Being back in our house is the best gift of all.

Ewan and I are enjoying our time at home with trips to the park, art projects and working on his ever growing vocabulary. Ewan's favorite person is Elmo, he chooses Elmo over mom and dad all the time. I guess this is just the beginning to Sean and I taking the back seat to more "important" people.

Apartment Living

We are remodeling our house right now and living in an apartment. In the end it will be a great improvement to our home but it's really hard not living there. The apartment is alright but I forgot how loud they can be. Last night at one in the morning our upstairs neighbor dropped something on the floor multiple times. When you awake from a deep sleep to three loud thumps your mind starts going. At first I thought maybe he's lifting weights and dropped his dumbbells on the floor. Then my more realistic inner monologue came through and said it's one in the morning who lifts weights at one in the morning? So I thought maybe something really bad happened to him and I should call the police. In the end I did nothing but go back to sleep and at five a.m. I heard his big truck roaring out of the driveway so I felt comfort in knowing he was still alive....

Ewan is still not sure what to think of the new place. He is always happy to leave and loves to go back to our house to sit in his bedroom. Poor little guy. I have been spoiling him rotten because I feel so bad. We went to Legoland on Tuesday and got some new toys. I bought him kettle corn at the mall and let him ride the carousel three times. If this continues we will be broke by the time we move back in!

Ewan started gymnastics at Denver University over the weekend, he loved it! He was the youngest in his class but got right up on the rings and held on for a very long time. It was fun to see him be adventurous, he has no fear.

New Position

Ewan Vacuuming
Last Ski Day

Many of you already know the news but I started a new position last week as a Domestic Engineer(Mommy)! Ewan and I are hanging out everyday, I love it! Not sure how Ewan feels about the situation. Pretty sure he is sick of me by the end of the day because he clings to Sean like human crazy glue at night.

Ewan is growing up so fast, he is 18 months now. His favorite activities are riding his tricycle, playing with matchbox cars and cleaning the house. Ewan grabs the broom out of the front closet any chance he can get and proceeds to sweep the floors while knocking over anything around him with the broom handle. There are so many times when he should be in trouble but instead I crack up laughing, he is so stinking cute.

The Whalen's have been pretty lame lately. Ski season was cut short when Sean fractured his back and broke a rib in a ski accident, bummer. He is doing fine but had to retire the skis for a season.

Since Ewan takes three hour naps I will have plenty of time to blog so keep checking in on us there is never a dull moment.
